ABOUT THE LIBRARY:

                        NPR Arts and Science college has an excellent library. The library was established in the academic year 2005-2006 with 1315 volumes. It is one of the best established library with  a large collection of books covering various branches of computer science, Information Technology, BCA, commerce and management, science and humanities and its related fields.

.Our College library follows open access system.

FACULTY DETAILS

INFRASTRUCTURE:                    

                       The library is located in the ground floor in main administrative block and its spread over 2400 sq ft    with a   

• Separate Stacking Section
• Long reading Hall
• Comfortable reference and circulation section

STACKING SECTION:

                      Library books are classified to arrange in subject wise, alphabetical order in Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC).

READING SECTION:   

                   The reading hall provided in the library.

REFERENCE SECTION:

                           The library consists of about 500reference books of all departments. The collection of thesis, Dissertations, Bound volumes, competitive exam books for GATE, GRE, IEEE, TOFFEL, GMAT, civil services of IAS, IPS, IFS and defense examination of army, navy and air force,  hospitality, nursing, TNPSC group I,II,III and VI,VII,VIII and NET, SET examinations, MKU question bank, NPR Internal questions with answer key. Syllabus, Tamil, English, Hindi, French, Dictionaries also available here

            LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS:              

Arts and science college library is mainly for the use of staff members and  students of the college. The number of books issued will be varying according to the membership category.

• Students are eligible to borrow books.
• The books should be returned within 7 days from the date of issue
• Renewal is also allowed if the concerned book is not reserved by others.
• Library follows the open access system. Hence books taken out of the rack    shall not be replaced. They  should be left on the table.
• Users must scan their ID card in e-GATE Register kept at the entrance while entry / exit to record their entry into the Library.
• Books will be issued to the students only on production of the valid ID card 

• Loss of books issued, if any should be reported to the Librarian immediately
• Members must replace the book if lost with latest edition along with overdue charges. If the borrower’s is unable to replace the lost book, triple the cost of the book will be collected.
• Journals and Back volumes will not be issued         

• Personal books and files should be left on the rack at the entrance of the library. Plain sheets may be taken instead
• Use of Mobile Phones inside the library is strictly prohibited. 
• Discussions are not allowed inside the library
• Strict silence should be observed in the library.

Browsing – the library is connected to the 16 mbps internet service hub of the library and has 4 systems for accessing the Inter net from 9.30 – 3.30 pm and also has a wifi facility in the campus to access the various online e-journals and e-books.

• Library has been fully computerized and all the transactions are automated OPAC (online public access catalogue). 
• Auto entry register with barcode facility in digital library.
