ABOUT DEPARTMENT

     The Mechanical Engineering Department was started in the year 2007. The department offers 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) course with intake of 180 seats affiliated to State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamilnadu. The department has a team of highly qualified, dedicated and motivated faculty and well equipped laboratories with facilities for more than diploma level programme.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering aspires to be as a Leader for Quality Education. To be globally recognized department for producing diploma graduates, who are innovative, entrepreneurial and competent to pursue diverse and successful careers in industry and society.

The Department's mission is to generate employable mechanical engineering diploma engineers with knowledge, skills and ethics; provide them with the professional and soft skills necessary to lead a successful career and peaceful life and equip them with the confidence necessary to contribute to society by performing in their respective chosen fields of endeavor.

The field of Mechanical Engineering encompasses many exciting subjects such as Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing, Power Plant Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Automation and Robotics which have been among the fastest growing and most challenging technologies that enable the development of the modern knowledgeable society.

ELIGIBILITY

  • First Year                 : Pass in SSLC
  • Direct Second Year : Pass in HSC (Academic / Vocational-Related to Mech. Engg.) or SSLC + 2 years ITI

Approved Intake       : 180 + 20 % Intake for Lateral Entry
