B.Sc Chemistry

The Department of chemistry was started in the year 2016 and its offer Bachelor of Science in chemistry with intake of 48 seats and affiliated by Madurai kamaraj university Madurai. The Department has qualified faculty members with excellent academic records. The Department is equipped with excellent laboratory facilities since its inspection. A separate instrumental lab is available. The area includes Potentiometer, Conductivity Bridge and Conductivity meter pH meter, Reflux condenser etc..

Educational Objectives:

• The student will learn the laboratory skills needed to design, safely conduct and interpret chemical research.
• To produce graduates who are familiar with research design methodology and are able to use problem solving techniques associated with research.
• To prepare graduates for employment as chemists.

Specific Outcomes:

• Chemistry majors will have a firm foundation in chemical principles as well as a higher level of understanding in each of the chemistry sub disciplines in Analytical chemistry, Organic chemistry, Inorganic chemistry and Physical chemistry
• Chemistry majors will have a working knowledge of chemical instrumentation and Laboratory techniques and be able to use those skills to design and conduct independent work
